Meet the Artist: Erica Molinari  — Modern Talismans Unique to your Story

We’re excited to welcome Erica Molinari to Green Lake Gallery!

A New York City–based fine jewelry designer whose work feels both timeless and deeply personal. Her collection at Green Lake Gallery brings together old-world romance, masterful craftsmanship, and meaningful symbolism — jewelry that tells a story and invites you to make it your own.

Self-taught and endlessly curious, Erica Molinari has spent nearly two decades honing her voice at the bench. Since founding her business in 2005, she has challenged herself daily, mastering not only the technical demands of fine jewelry making but also the discipline required of an independent designer. Her path to jewelry was anything but conventional, and that singular journey is woven into every piece she creates.

Before jewelry, Erica’s first career demanded grit, focus, and resilience: she was a member of the U.S. National and Olympic Luge Team, competing in the 1988 Winter Olympic Games in Calgary and again in 1992 in Albertville. The stamina, adaptability, and determination required to compete at that level have carried seamlessly into her life as a designer. It’s a rare background that gives her work an unmistakable sense of strength beneath its beauty.

Erica’s aesthetic is rooted in history, drawing inspiration from Medieval, Renaissance, and Victorian periods, yet her jewelry never feels nostalgic or costume-like. Instead, she melds beloved motifs from the past with a modern, soulful sensibility—creating pieces that embody old-world charm with contemporary presence and character. Her designs feel discovered rather than invented, as though they have always existed, waiting to be reinterpreted for today.

One of the most captivating aspects of Erica Molinari’s work is her collection of silver and 18K gold charms. These double-sided pieces are exceptional examples of how historical themes can be reimagined with fresh perspective. Engraved with motifs and sayings in Latin or Italian, each charm carries a sentiment or motto that feels both poetic and strikingly relatable. They speak of devotion, love, courage, loyalty, and self-belief, symbols that resonate across generations and cultures.

In her most recent collections, Erica has truly hit her stride. Expanding her technical repertoire, she taught herself the art of engraving and vitreous (hard/hot) glass enameling, breathing new life into these enchanting, old-world techniques. With a steady hand and an artistic eye, she creates every motif herself, resulting in jewelry that feels intimate and intentional. Her enamel work is rich in color and depth, adding a luminous layer to designs already steeped in meaning.

What makes Erica Molinari’s jewelry so compelling is not only its beauty, but its purpose. Her pieces are meant to signify friendship, empowerment, romantic love, faith, and loyalty. Values that are as relevant today as they were centuries ago. These are jewels designed to be worn daily, gifted thoughtfully, and cherished for a lifetime, destined to endure for future collectors.
