Meet the Artist: Heather Guidero — Sculptural Simplicity in Motion

We're thrilled to welcome contemporary jewelry artist Heather Guidero to Green Lake Gallery. Known for her elegantly minimal yet richly expressive designs, Heather brings a bold new voice to our collection—one rooted in geometry, movement, and the beauty of everyday wear.

Heather's journey began under the wide-open skies of rural Indiana, where an early love of drawing gradually evolved into a passion for metalsmithing. After earning her formal training at the Rhode Island School of Design and working as a goldsmith for Reinstein/Ross in New York, she returned to Providence to launch her own line in 2005. Today, her studio practice reflects not only technical mastery, but a deep joy in transforming raw materials into artful, wearable forms.

At the heart of Heather’s jewelry is a fascination with line and structure—how a two-dimensional sketch can unfold into three-dimensional form. Her work explores this through simple geometric shapes rendered in sterling silver, 22K yellow gold, bimetal, and oxidized silver. Pieces are often constructed from thin sheet and wire, making them remarkably lightweight, yet they carry a striking presence on the body.

When worn, Heather's jewelry is not static. Rings and discs move gently and audibly, creating a soft clinking sound that turns each piece into a living, breathing sculpture—an experience that evolves with its wearer throughout the day.

Drawing inspiration from modernist design, fashion, and urban architecture, Heather’s jewelry features hand-applied matte finishes with burnished edges, which heighten the graphic interplay of form and contrast. Select pieces are accented by diamonds or vibrant gemstones, but the emphasis remains on design, not status. As she explains, her work is about elevating structure and simplicity, allowing composition to shine through before materials.

Heather’s pieces have been exhibited in galleries and museums nationwide, including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and Washington D.C.’s Jewelerswerk. Each piece is thoughtfully made by hand in her Providence studio—and now, we’re delighted to share them with you in our Gallery.

Whether you’re drawn to bold shapes, subtle movement, or meaningful craftsmanship, Heather Guidero’s jewelry offers an elegant, modern way to express your style.

Come explore her collection in person at Green Lake Gallery or online—and discover jewelry that moves with you.
